Shakti Kundalini Yoga is designed for a woman’s body.
When it came to my attention that the yoga being taught in the west was designed for a man’s body, but was practiced primarily by women … I knew there was something fishy about the asanas being taught in gyms and mega malls.
Data shows that the majority of people doing yoga in western nations identify as women… and in the Unitied States a whopping 72% of yoga goers are female.
So why is this data whack? Because the yoga we cherry picked from India was primarily taught and practiced by MEN. And that in many cases, at least in the not so distant past, women were stoned to death for practicing yoga. WTF?
The take over of yoga by women, to me, is a feminist revolution.
As I began to go down the rabbit hole into the threads of feminine lineages of yoga, I found my way to researchers and educators like Sally Kempton with her lushious teachings on “Awakening Shakti” and Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, PhD, with her epic go-to yoga bible for women:“Yoni Shakti”.
Ironically, soon after I completed my KRI certification as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and was doing my best to ignore the rampant mysogeny taught by Yogi Bhajan, the founder of this so called “lineage” I was teaching, the news came out that he made alot of this shit up and was a rapist and manipulator of the women in his cult.
So me, along with a lot of other women who left KRI, broke the rules and began to make this modern form of kundalini yoga our own.
My passion is to weave sensuality, eroticism and pleasure practices with yoga and meditation to help women shine in her personal power, confidence and creative flow.
